ArabiaWeather.com- By the end of this month, the water desalination pumping station using solar energy will start operating via reverse osmosis technology and solar photovoltaic energy, with a production capacity of 50 cubic meters per day.

DEWA seeks, through the station located in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex, to promote research and development, in addition to providing the research and development facilities in the complex with high-quality drinking water.

The project works to extract water with high salinity and desalinate it to produce pure, high-quality water with the same healthy bottled water quality and innovative technology.

The electricity source that will supply all electrical loads for pumping and desalinating water will be collected at the station. With electrical energy, between photovoltaic cells and an electric energy storage system, with a capacity of 520 kWh per day.

It is expected that the construction works of the project will be completed by the end of May, when about 35% of the construction works of the project have been completed.
